Tri-Loppet Coverage
June 29, 2013The string of rainy, damp weather this spring made for a wet and muddy Tri-Loppet Saturday. A big field lined up on the north end of Lake Calhoun then took off south under relatively light winds before return to pass through Lake of the Isles and Cedar Lake before departing the paddle leg on the north end of Brownie Lake. From there participants strided through saturated trails for a short 5K run then switched over to bikes for the final leg. The bike portion featured a number of "watering holes", providing ample opportunity to get muddy. Solo victories went to Matt Liebsch and Josie Nelson. The fastest overall relay victory went to 'Gear West'.
