Some of the most beautiful viewpoints Mother Nature has to offer are often-times some of the least accessible.  Backpacking allows you to propel yourself to these places while being entirely self-sufficient.  It provides solitude in nature as well as camaraderie among hiking partners. The Superior Hiking Trail is one of the top longest trails in the U.S., and it's in our own backyard.  This convenient rocky footpath surrounded by pines and birch, with stunning views of Lake Superior and distant rushing waterfalls is a Minnesota gem!  Kim Fishburn will teach you about the different sections of the trail, important information you will need to know before you go, and how to get around once you’ve arrived. Tuesday, September 16 - 7:00pm  Discover the BWCAW Sioux Hustler 
The Sioux Hustler Trail is one of the most scenic backpacking trails in the BWCAW.  Martin Kubik, long time trail advocate, will guide us through the lens of a camera by waterfalls, across beaver dams, through old pine growth and beautiful exposed bedrock. Adventure Mississippi River (AMR) is our flagship expedition, blending real life adventure with technology to reach students both locally and beyond the Mississippi watershed.  AMR aims to inspire students to experience an adventure in their local environment, understand the potential environmental impacts of their actions, and engage the rich history and diversity of species along the Mississippi River and its immense watershed.OAR Northwest's previous expeditions include, a world record crossing of the North Atlantic, a circumnavigation of the Olympic Peninsula and Vancouver Island, and an attempted crossing of the South part of the North Atlantic and Caribbean from Africa to the Americas.
