Some of the most beautiful viewpoints Mother Nature has to offer are often-times some of the least accessible. Backpacking allows you to propel yourself to these places while being entirely self-sufficient. It provides solitude in nature as well as camaraderie among hiking partners. The Superior Hiking Trail is one of the top longest trails in the U.S., and it's in our own backyard. This convenient rocky footpath surrounded by pines and birch, with stunning views of Lake Superior and distant rushing waterfalls is a Minnesota gem! The Sioux Hustler Trail is one of the most scenic backpacking trails in the BWCAW. Martin Kubik, long time trail advocate, will guide us through the lens of a camera by waterfalls, across beaver dams, through old pine growth and beautiful exposed bedrock. Martin will also share his common sense light backpacking tips to make your next trip more enjoyable. OAR Northwest is a 501 (c) (3) not for profit adventure education organization, exploring the worlds water under human power, delivering innovative STEM curriculum to classrooms online and through school visits, and performing research from our vessel of oppurtunity.
