Isle Royale National Park is an isolated archipelago in Lake Superior - a 45+ mile-long island surrounded by countless smaller islands, filled with their own lakes and waterways, hundreds of moose, a few elusive wolves, and thick aspen and spruce forests.  The ecology of its famous wildlife residents plays out in a complicated, unique, and beautiful wilderness ecosystem.  Famous for its rugged backpacking or canoeing potential, Isle Royale is one of the least-visited national parks - and also boasts the highest return rate for visitors. Liz Dengate, a professional naturalist and environmental educator, worked and lived on Isle Royale as a park ranger for three seasons, and has hiked and paddled the island countless times.  Join her and other Isle Royale fans for an evening discussing the island's best backpacking and paddling routes, tips for a successful adventure, how to get there, and more about the island's famous disappearing wolves (and what that means for the moose).
