| Three Weeks 'Til the Birkie  Now is the time to get new skis for the Birkie so you can familiarize yourself with them before the big day! We have plenty of great flexes in stock, and remember... Doc only sells rockets.
Dusty Olson, Start wax tech, will be assisting the Doc and his wax crew to prepare your skis for your best Birkie. Dusty learned his waxing licks as a junior, the same time he won his junior national title. He has been a wax tech for the Rossignol, Fischer, and Atomic race teams, even waxing skis for podium finishers at the Birkie. Dusty will arrive at the Bicycle Doctor with his rolling race lab trailer- fully stocked with Birkie winning Start waxes, the same setup he will have in Hayward. Throughout the week, Dusty will be in contact with techs in Hayward testing waxes to have the most up-to-date waxing strategy. Bring in your skis on the 14th and 15th so that we can apply base layers with final topcoats to be applied on Wednesday before the Birkie weekend. Grind on your Mind  Gary the Grinder has spent years perfecting Doc's Dairyland Grinds. All of these grinds are regionally specific. He has over 20 Birkies under his belt and has taken the time to ski every type of grind. He is a perfectionist. Bring in your skis now so that you have plenty of time to get wax layers built up after your grind. |
