Snowflake KidSki is an eight week program of cross-country ski lessons for youth ages 4-13, and is held during Sunday afternoons in December, January, and February at Snowflake Nordic Center. MiSSeries/MNSA Banquet a Success April 10, 2008 More than 90 people attended this year's Minnesota Nordic Ski Association (MNSA)/Minnesota Skinnyski Series (MiSSeries) Banquet. Held at the Midtown Global Market in Minneapolis, attendees enjoyed the MiSSeries awards presentation, a moving presentation of the MNSA lifetime achievement awards and the Market's excellent international cuisine.
Skier Gala Coverage April 6, 2008 The Skier Gala Sunday evening at the U of M alumni center drew over 100 attendees as Ahvo Taipale was honored for his coaching role in the championship teams of the mid 80s. Catlin Compton and Garrott Kuzzy shared experiences from their international racing this past winter and US Ski Team coach Pete Vordenberg capped the evening with a presentation on progress, partnership and teamwork. MiSSeries/MNSA Banquet Will Honor Rykken, Marciniak March 18, 2008 The 2008 Minnesota Nordic Ski Association is presenting two Lifetime Achievement Awards: the first to Anne Rykken of St. Paul and the second posthumously to Mike Marciniak of Cloquet. The awards will be presented at the annual MiSSeries/MNSA Banquet, Saturday, April 5th.

Noted Skiing Journalist Paul Robbins Dies February 24, 2008 Internationally recognized ski and travel journalist Paul Robbins, a wordsmith and historian for the U.S. Ski Team for 30 years, died Saturday at his home in Vermont.
Paul Walker Passes Away February 12, 2008 Paul Walker, avid cyclist and skier, well known for his generous work on his Goat Farm trail system, passed away on Monday. A memorial visitation will be held Thursday in Wautoma.
CXC Fundraising Drive February 11, 2008 CXC is having an end of the season fundraising campaign. To help sustain growth in its programs, CXC is introducing a Sponsoring Membership along with its Adopt an Athlete Program. Concern over Wisconsin State Trails Council Proposal December 4, 2007 If Wisconsin Assembly Bill 600 becomes law it will make significant changes in the composition of the Governor's State Trails Council which represents all types of trail recreation in Wisconsin. In particular, the bill will require representation of four motorized user groups while not requiring any representation of silent sports.
Health Updates: Bert Kleerup Passes Away December 4, 2007 The sad news came in today that Bert Kleerup, one of the founders of Eagle River Nordic, passed away. Funeral services will be held Friday in Eagle River. On a positive note, Nikolai Anikin Jr is reporting his father appears to be doing well in his cancer fight.
