Subaru Factory Team Academy to be Held in Twin Cities, Oct 5-7

Bozeman, MT -- Midwest cross-country ski enthusiasts will have the opportunity to learn the latest cross-country ski racing technique and training methods from some of the Nation’s best. Two-time Olympian and author Pete Vordenberg along with 2001 World Championship team member Barb Jones (a native of Stillwater, MN), both members of the Subaru Factory Team, will be conducting this intensive ski-racing academy in the Twin Cities on October 5-7.

The academy is open to all cross-country ski racers interested in learning the latest ideas and methods of cross-country ski training and technique. The major topics to be covered are the New Skate (as read about in The Master Skier), the evolution of classical technique, and the latest in training theory and practice as well as specific training ideas for Masters skiers. Other topics include why skiers (Norwegians) don’t train like runners (Kenyans). Tips for monitoring fitness and fatigue, how to build training into your lifestyle and strategies for racing at your best will also be presented.

This three-day academy starts at 1pm on October 5th and concludes at 2:30pm on October 7th. The Academy costs $295 and includes two gourmet lunches and over 17 hours of instruction. Those interested can contact Endurance Enterprises and the Subaru Factory Team at (406) 585-2660, or email [email protected]. To enroll or get more information simply visit www.dreamofit.com. To insure a low participant to instructor ratio enrollment is strictly limited on a first come first serve basis, so don’t hesitate to sign up at www.dreamofit.com

The Subaru Factory Team encourages anyone wishing to improve their ski racing to consider attending this academy. According to Pete Vordenberg, “It doesn't matter what you bring to the academy, you will leave with a wealth of information, ideas and energy to apply to your own skiing dreams -- whatever they may be.”
