Fisherman's Picnic Trail Run and Walk -
Saturday, August 4, 2001
This years annual Fisherman's Picnic Trail Run and Walk will be held on the Pincushion Mountain Trail on Saturday, August 4. Events include a 5 mile run (10:30 am), 5 mile walk (10:30 am), half mile youth run (10 am) and a new 3 mile non-competitive walk (10:45 am). All events will start at the Pincushion Mountain Area trailhead two miles north of Grand Marais just off the Gunflint Trail.
This is the 13th year the trail run has been held on the Pincushion Trail during the annual Grand Marais Fisherman's Picnic celebration. The race serves as a fundraiser to support Cook County High School running and cross country skiing programs. The 5 mile running race field will include some of Minnesota's and Nortwestern Ontario's finest trail runners.
Pre-registration by mail prior to August 1. Race day registration from 8 am to 9:30 am at the start area. Race day entry fees $7.50 to $15 depending on event. Entry fees include a race t-shirt. On online entry form is available at www.pincushiontrails.org.
