Updates on the upcoming events...
  • Dec 15 Elver Park Series (Madison, WI)
    • Dec 15 update:
      Due to computer malfunction, the Tuesday night Elver races will begin next Tuesday (Dec 22nd).

  • Dec 16 Elm Creek Series (Maple Grove, MN)
    • Dec 16 update:
      Tonight's distance and course: 2 laps (2.5k per lap, total 5k) on the entire man-made loop, both skate and classic.

  • Dec 16 Duluth Wednesday Night Series (Duluth, MN)
    • Dec 16 update:
      Race is cancelled for this week due to low snow conditions.  Considering a rock ski Wednesday night race for next week...

  • Dec 19 St. Mary's Race (Winona, MN)
    • Dec 14 update:
      We'll be hosting a 10K race at St. Mary's University this weekend. Trails are great. Please see trail reports.
      Racer's will meet at number 42 on the campus map.
      Race Length: 10K
      Date: Saturday December 19th.
      Start time: 9:30 AM
      Cost: $15.00 please make check payable to St. Mary's University. Funds to benefit Winona Youth Skiing and the Trails.
      After the race stick around and ski! Enjoy some of the best trails!

  • Dec 19 Elk River Race (Elk River, MN)
    • Dec 14 update:
      The Elk River Race is on for Saturday. We've got good snow cover and a great trail system. 20 km race gets started at 10:00am, 10 km race will go off at 10:05 and 10 km citizen ski will be at 10:10. Kids race will follow at 12:00pm.
      Door prize drawings are donated from Gear West and Pioneer Midwest along with food from Diamond City Breads of Elk River and other local stores.
      Online registration is available through Friday at Midnight. All proceeds go to the Elk River Nordic Ski Team.

  • Dec 19 Tuscobia Ultramarathon (Rice Lake, WI)
    • Dec 16 update:
      Things are looking great for the race! I'm only 2 short of a full roster for the first year! Lots of fast bikers-Andre Pramann-Farrow-Schotz all very fast. Runners Matt Long-Wynn Davis will set times that will be hard to beat! Not sure about the skiers, a couple from Utah and a few others from the midwest mostly classic skiers. The trail is starting to shape up 10-15 inches covering the whole thing. Looks like its going to be a great first year!

  • Dec 19-20 Wausau JOQ  (Wausau, WI)
    • Dec 16 update:
      Our registration closed at midnight last night and we have 160 freestyle and 139 registered classic skiers. The course is piston bully groomed and will continue to be the remainder of the week. There is a 24" base on most of the course. We are excited about the event and hope it all goes smooth.

  • Dec 19 Trinordique Winter Triathlon (Maple Grove, MN)
    • Dec 16 update:
      The race is on! The Trinordique Winter Triathlon, Kids Race and Relay will be held this weekend, December 19, 2009 at beautiful Elm Creek. Do it solo or find a team! It's not to late to sign up! We will have race day sign up Saturday morning starting at 7:00. Packet pick up has changed from Friday evening to Saturday the morning of the race.
      Distance and course description -- RUN: 7.6k Hard packed snow, groomed for cross-country skiing. Regular running shoes should be fine but remember to wear some warm socks! BIKE: 12k Hard packed snow, and paved trail. Helmets are mandatory. SKI: 7.5 k On a trail, groomed by the best, the final leg of the race will bring you a full three loops of the 2.5 k manmade portion of Elm's trails. The course is in prime shape due to the wonderful snow we've received last week. We are blessed to have what we have.

  • Dec 19 Snowflake Sprints (Duluth, MN)
    • Dec 18 update:
      In typical Snowflake last minute scrambling manner, Snowflake will hold sprint challenge races between 1-3 pm on Saturday, Dec 19th, on our Olympic Size Oval. Excellent race conditions. All age groups from ages 5 to 90...entry fee $1.00 US or 70 cents Euro.for more info, or if you cannot afford the fee, call George 218-310-2517.

  • Dec 20 Flake Race  (Duluth, MN)
    • Dec 17 update:
      Race has been moved to the After Hours ski trail!  There will be no fee for the "race"  (due to lack of insurance).  10K mass start skate.  Free Skate Technique Lesson taught by Team Rossignol athletes Nikolai Anikin, Bjorn Batdorf and Hillary Patzer.  We'll work on skate technique from 2-3pm. V1 for uphills and V2 alternative for flats. Rossignol demo skis will be available 11-3pm.
