Sisu Ski Fest Price Hike at the end of October

Dear Bruce,
Legs 2012 SSF

SISU SKI FEST
JANUARY 10 & 11, 2015
(Always the second weekend of the year)

The ski season is fast approaching. There has been snow on the ground in Ironwood already and there are only 73 days until we kick off the 6th annual SISU Ski Fest. Be sure to read the following articles to learn about some exciting changes to this year's SISU Ski Fest.
   NEW SISU COMBINED!

Ski on Saturday and snowshoe on Sunday. Race the Full Combined: 42K SISU ski marathon plus 10K SISU snowshoe race--or the Half Combined: 21K Heikki Lunta plus the 5K snowshoe race. The top male and female in each event will win an inaugural SISU Combined trophy and prize package. The fastest combined time of the two races will be used to determine the winner. Check the website for details as they become available.

New This Year

When you register on-line be sure to choose to link  to your Facebook and Twitter accounts so you can enable live streaming of your split time at Norrie Park. Automatically let your family and friends know that you only have 11K to go. If you have already registered but you didn't choose that option at the time, you can still add it by going to your Chrono Track profile and clicking on the appropriate option. Details are available on the SISU Ski Fest Registration Page.

RACECOURSE MODIFICATIONS

You spoke and we listened. We have made some changes to the course this year that should alleviate some of the issues from past races. The hairpin curve at the end of the Pit Point loop will have a larger turning radius to make it much less severe; we've modified the 21K course to eliminate the big downhill on Peltonen Passout; the final downhill curve as you approach the downtown Ironwood area will be wider and gently banked; and we will groom a second lane along the railroad grade north of Norrie Park for a designated Taste 'n Tour lane. These changes should make for a more enjoyable experience for everyone.
