LNR Time Trial at Soldier Hollow

Loppet Nordic Racing athletes joined Wasatch Nordic Club for a 9k/13.5km Skate TT at Soldier Hollow, Utah. Athletes raced on a 4.5 km loop at the 2002 Winter Olympic Venue. The rollerski track is one of the toughest in the world. With warm up, race, and cool down, the men tallied 4000 feet of vertical for the morning! Pacing and getting accustomed to racing altitude were the main focus of the camp and time trial for the LNR athletes.

The time trial was part of a LNR 9 day training camp, preparing athletes for racing at Soldier Hollow in January at the US Senior Nationals, which is the qualifying races for U18 Nations Cup and World Junior Championships. The World Junior Championships will also be held at Soldier Hollow in February, the first time since 1986 that they have been held in the U.S.

Racing started at 8:30 am as temps at Soldier Hollow are typically in the 90's by 11am.
