Pine Valley Skidaddle Race Report

January 15, 2017

Pine Valley, Cloquet, MN
Conditions: 1 degree F, calm wind, sunshine, good track, squeaky snow
Race Distance: 11 kilometers

It was a cold January morning, but that didn't keep a small and enthusiastic group of racers, volunteers, and Pine Valley supporters from making the first-ever Pine Valley Skidaddle Race a pleasant success. Skiers completed two laps of the 5.5 kilometer competiton trail at Pine Valley for a race distance of 11 kilometers. Nikolai Anikin was the overall race winner, and Pine Valley's own Alisha Bradley won the women's division. Casey Krueger finished second overall and another Pine Valley local, Greg Williams (who is Alisha's dad), finished third overall to produce a good Pine Valley representation on the podium. The new event was a fundraiser for the Cloquet Ski Club and Pine Valley 360 organizations who provided post-race soup, hot chocolate, cookies, and prizes. Thanks to everyone who braved the cold January morning to have fun at Pine Valley!
