  The race registration will be at Jan's Place, the building that is at the backside of the parking area (off the Star Loop, basically where the red snowshoe trail starts -- see map).  Drive past the main visitor center and continue up over the hill and down to the back parking lots.

  Organizers have put together a short-notice race for this Saturday. Very similar set up to the normal Marine/O'Brien ski race.  Kids race at 10 am, adults race at 11 am.  See the calendar for more details.

• Mar 8 update:
  The double header weekend races -- FINDING RAINBOW II 25K (Freestyle -- skate or classic) at 11am on Sat., March 10 and POLE PEDAL PANT (PPP) winter triathlon (freestyle 10k xc skiing, 10k mt. bike, and 5k run) at 11am on Sunday, March 11 -- are ON!!! The local forecast for the weekend is: temp. is in the 10s for low and 30s for high on Sat., and 10s for low and 40s for high on Sunday. Ski trails are groomed for both classic and skate for the ski portion of the PPP, and the bike and run portions will be on the road, mostly covered by snow yet as of today. Stud tires are allowed. Please remember the Daylight Saving Time starts on Sunday morning.

• Mar 5 update:
  The 3rd annual POLE PEDAL PANT (PPP) winter triathlon race (10k ski, 10k mt bike, and 5k run) on Sunday and a double header FINDING RAINBOW II (25k freestyle) on Saturday are ON! The Saturday FINDING RAINBOW II ski race will give one a preview of the PPP ski part of the race held on Sunday. The weather forecast of this week is that there are new snow fall on Wed. and the weather will get a bit warmer as the week progresses. This 3rd annual PPP race will again use an equalizing race format to determine one overall winner among all individual men, individual women, and teams. - Amy Xu, race director

  Mark Helmer has just informed me that the Judeen Classic has just been rescheduled for this Sunday the 11th!!  Registration from 9 - 10:30 am. Race at 11.  Cost minimal.

• Mar 18 ABR Spring Race (Ironwood, MI)
• Mar 3 update:
  We have a new race director for the race, Jackie Powers. I think Jackie will step up the race to a new level with her attention to detail and organizing and with the new youth divsion. The handicap start times have once again been tweaked to get all of the top age/gender group winners to finish at the same time. Last year we had 9 age/gender groups in the top 10. Prizes recevied to date include a set of Atomic World Cup Skate skis, a nice selection of FastWax, Sporthill, and Craft products, a logo ABR Race jacket, Alpina shoes, hats, and more... We hit 13 feet of snowfall for the season as of today so there is no shortage of snow!
