Save Lebanon Hills Wilderness Information Rally

Information Rally to be held Monday, Dec. 9th, 7pm

A gathering of citizens concerned about the $31 million Development Plan for Lebanon Hills Regional Park.

A short presentation followed by Q&A and discussion.

Falcon Ridge Middle School, Lower Level
12900 Johnny Cake Ridge Road, Apple Valley, MN

Presented by Lebanon Hills - Wilderness in the City

Background:

The public comment/review period for the Lebanon Hills Development Plan runs through January 18th, and the Board is expected to vote on the plan at their February 2014 meeting. During this critical final stage, we urge all who have an opinion to submit comments to the planners.

The Development plan will change xc-skiing in the park. The pavement intersects ski trails a number of times, and the grading, cut and fill which will be required to keep the pavement at a 5% grade will have an even greater impact on the ski trails.

We have formed an active committee to work on our campaign to "Save Lebanon Hills Wilderness" and are making every effort to build awareness to stop this controversial plan from being approved.

We are hosting a public event next Monday, Dec. 9 at 7pm. I encourage all to attend.

In addition, the Park Department's Open House is scheduled on Monday, Dec. 16, 5-7 pm. The Open House is not at the visitor center, but rather the Western Service Center in Apple Valley.
