Outdoor Recreation Alliance Announces New Executive Director

The Outdoor Recreation Alliance of the 7 Rivers Region has announced the hiring of Jack Zabrowski as their new Executive Director. Zabrowski will begin this week and takes over from Sue Howe who accepted a position with the Caledonia Minnesota School District.

Zabrowski is a 14 year resident of La Crosse. He formerly served as the Bicycle and Pedestrian Coordinator for La Crosse County where he spearheaded efforts to promote safer places to be physically active. ORA board member Ralph Heath said, "Jack Zabrowski has a rich history of outdoor recreational accomplishments in our community and other communities. Jack has been instrumental in bringing new ideas to the area that have improved our quality of life and ORA is fortunate to secure Jack to lead the organization.”

Zabrowski recently returned to La Crosse from Hayward, Wisconsin where he served as Race Director of the Borah Epic. Zabrowski was active in volunteer coordination and community engagement and lead the Borah Epic organization in raising more than $37,000 in three years. Race profits were used to develop and maintain multi-use trails in the Hayward, Cable, and Ashland area.

The Outdoor Recreation Alliance (ORA) of the 7 Rivers Region is leading the effort to enhance the resources and infrastructure of the areas outdoor recreation. Zabrowski said, “Access to outdoor recreation makes our region a more vibrant, economically healthy place, where people want to live, work and visit and I’m excited about building on this effort.

Zabrowski went on to say, “ORA has worked tirelessly to position the 7 Rivers Region as a mecca for outdoor recreational opportunities. My wife and I are so very happy to be back in La Crosse and I am honored to lead the Outdoor Recreation Alliance into the future.”
