LAPHAM PEAK ADDING 0.7 KM OF SNOWMAKING TRAIL

The Friends of Lapham Peak have reached an agreement with the Wisconsin DNR to increase the length of cross country ski trails covered with manmade snow by about 0.76 kilometers. The Friends donated $116,000 to the DNR in the form of a new snowgun and 2500 feet of snowmaking infrastructure. Approximately 0.43 kilometers of new snowmaking trail will be added this year, with another 0.33 kilometers in 2019, resulting in a total snowmaking trails length of 2.4 kilometers. Installation of 1400 feet of piping and power cable has just been completed and is ready for use in the upcoming ski season. The installation was performed by Friends’ volunteers.
