  Three main loops, from beginner to expert. Locted just a mile west of town. 
Calumet Swedetown Trails

  Beginner to expert trails. 4.5k lighted until 10 p.m. Host to the annual Great Bear Chase. Up, down, turns, mixed stands of forest and clearings provide an exciting terrain for the skier. The flow of the trail is Swedetown's specialty. The trail is meticulously groomed and the addition of a warming chalet and lighted trail have made Swedetown hard to beat.

  Easy to intermediate level. The hills have been designed to provide ample landing space at the bottom with no surprise corners. 1km lighted trail. Maintained through cooperation from private landholders and The Chassell Recreation Club on a volunteer basis. Parking and the trailhead at the Chassell Heritage Center.

  Trails vary from easy to expert including the Kamakazie 9 km Intermediate to Expert loop.

  The Listening Inn Bed & Breakfast grooms a classic-only trail system that winds through varying terrain; open meadows, hardwoods, and virgin stands of pine. Several loops range from fairly easy to more advanced. Donations are requested for day skiers. 
Grand Marais 6  Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore    20mi      
  Trails flow along the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, and range from easy to intermediate. Groomed classic only. 
Hancock Maasto Hiihto Ski Trails   
Trailheads: 7 Chalet, 7 Tomasi Dr, 7 Christsen Rd

  The trail is located in the city of Hancock and can be accessed from many points. The main trailhead is located at the Houghton County Arena. Easy to expert trails pass a picnic spot and beautiful vistas.  
Houghton Michigan Tech University Ski Trails   
Trailheads: 8 Main, 8 Nara

  Long downhills, gathering speed and sharp turns at the bottom are distinctive of the trails you will find here. 34k of groomed trails, 24k of skate trails, 7k lighted trails in the evening until 9pm. Trails are groomed daily to manage the 200"+ of annual snowfall. Heated chalets at the Main Trailhead and Nara Trailhead.

  Classical ski track groomed double wide for much of the trail with some flat stretches and hills of varying difficulty in primarily hardwood forests, with views of Hagerman, Ottawa, and Bennan Lakes. The trail is maintained and groomed by Covenant Point Bible Camp.

  The Iron River Cross Country Ski Center offers six kilometers of groomed trails prepared for both classical and skating techniques at the George Young Recreational Complex. The varying terrain provides excellent skiing for all ability levels. Indoor amenities such as swimming pool, spa, locker rooms and sauna.

  The wooded and rolling terrain of the Brule River Valley make Ski Brule's trail system a favorite amongst silent sport enthusiasts. Tracked and flat groomed trails are ideal for traditional cross country, diagonal stride skiing, ski skating and snowshoeing. The trail system winds along the base of the mountain and the Brule River, offering scenic views to enjoy.

  ABR is a full service touring center, located on scenic and varied terrain along the Montreal River in Ironwood Michigan. Trailhead cabin, retail ski shop, rentals and lessons available. They have state of the art grooming equipment, including Pisten Bully powertillers, and groom daily. Open at 9 AM daily from November to April 1st.

  Fairly easy trail right in Ironwood, used for part of the SISU Ski Fest races in January. 
Ironwood 14  Wolverine Ski Trail    18km       906-932-0509
  Trails consist of 5 separate loops groomed by volunteers from the Wolverine Nordic Ski Club. An interesting mix for all ability levels. Heavily wooded terrain and great snow make for a wonderful ski experience.New warming shelter.

  Granite cliffs, Deer Lake and Teal Lake overlooks. Lots of hills. 4K of the Teal trail is lighted.

  Trails range from easy to difficult. Part of the Superior Nordic Training and Recreation Area. Located directly west of Suicide Bowl Trails. 
Marenisco 17  Bergland Ski Trail    6.3K       906-884-2411
  Lightly used trail system, ski thorough many hemlocks with a good mix of hills. All classic.

  Located right in Marquette, contains 1.7 and 1 kilometer cross-country ski trails which are lighted until 11 p.m. during the winter months.

  Deceptively rugged trail on a new section of the Marquette Golf Course.  
Marquette Noquemanon Trail   
Trailheads: 20 Forestville, 20 Big Bay, 20 CR 510
  Lower Noquemanon trail, a point to point trail leading from Co. Rd. 510 in Negaunee Township to the Superior Dome in Marquette. A beautifully wooded trail that is encompassed by Upper Peninsula wilderness. Three trailheads: County Road 510, Forestville Rd, and Superior Dome. Upper segment only groomed for the Noquemanon ski race. 
Marquette 21  Saux Head Trail    12km      
  Trail Difficulty: Moderate, hilly. Gorgeous vistas of Saux Head Lake and Lake Superior.

  These trails are located about 15 miles south of Munising and are part of the Hiawatha National Forest. Grooming is on a somewhat irregular basis, and trails (three loops) are rated easy to difficult. Described as very wooded and scenic, with more of a "backcountry" feel. There's also a rustic cabin for rent near this trail.

  Located just outside the city, wonderful rolling hills with some real challenging sections. Loads of lake effect snow in the winter.

  Just west of Ishpeming, these trails also have a biathlon range.

  Located at Kivela Road Park. Three groomed loops for beginners, intermediate and advance.

  Several loops of groomed trail. Starts at the Negaunee Township Community Center. 
Ontonagon 27  Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park    42km       906-885-5275
  Enjoy the quiet splendor of wooded trails and breathtaking vistas blanketed in winter white from any of the Porkies cross-country trails. A unique one-ride lift ticket provides a quick access to the heart of the Nordic trail system from the Chalet.

  There are a few small hills but mostly rolling flats. The trails are primarily in the woods with one loop that is more exposed. There is a lodge with bathrooms and area to change clothes.  
Rapid River 29  Rapid River Ski Trail    40K       906-474-6442
  This trail system is part of the Hiawatha National Forest and is ranked easy to moderate. It offers three loops providing easy access for beginners, rolling hills for advanced skiers, and steeper slopes for experts. The trailhead is located 7 miles north of Rapid River on US 41.

  CedarHurst Lodge offers 5K of on-site trails, primarily classic with some sections for skating. Expansion of the trails to 13K is planned. 
Sands Blueberry Ridge Trail   
Trailheads: 31 South Lot, 31 M553 North, 31 M553 South

  Part of the DNR Forest with a 2.7km lighted loop. Trails range from easy to advanced with some classical-only trails. 
Skandia 32  Maple Lane Ski Center    20K       906-942-7662
  Classical only trails, indoor area with snackbar, fireplace, and restroom. Trails are groomed often, on an as needed basis. 
Twin Lakes 33  Twin Lakes State Park    2.5k      
  Easy to moderate trails provide a view of Lake Superior at the scenic overlook sight. All trails are maintained on a volunteer effort. Parking and the trailhead are at the DNR Field Office. 
Wakefield 34  Miljes Ski Trails    14km       715-862-2324
  Milje's ski trails are located 1 mile south of Wakefield, Mi in the heart of the U.P.'s snowbelt. Gentle classic only trails through a mix of hardwood forests and cedar swamps make this area a gem to experience. 
Watersmeet 35  Land O' Lakes Trail    13K      
  The East Trails travel through a forest dominated by evergreens with terrain that is gentle and rolling and suitable for skiers of all abilities. The West Trails travel through a forest of primarily hardwoods and offer more hills and winding runs through the natural hilly terrain.
