Reports 1 to 10 of 46    Month: Apr | Mar | Feb | Jan | Dec

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Complete coverage on the trail by several inches. It wasn't a fast ski, but it was fun to get another one in.

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Skated at 8am, 32F, did the bunny trails only as deck was firm with 3" cover but mostly crust rut skiing as the trails appeared to have not been groomed for some time. Did not want to risk doing the hills as there were a few open spots on the sunny sides. Assume done grooming for the year, too bad as there is still plenty of snow out there. Still worth the trip though.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
There is a good base still. Oak leaves in the tracks, which make the tracks uneven in spots, but tracks are holding fairly well. The trails have not been groomed. I did not skate ski today, but skate deck looked to be good if you time it right.

These are the kinds of trail conditions we wait all winter for. New, firm, fast corduroy with total edge control. All trails have been groomed to their full width. Tracks set on most trails (except "I" and Meander) and they are firm and fast with solid pole plants.

Night
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
Some trails had a cursory pass of the groomer which resulted in a sometimes firm, sometimes soft skating track one skater wide. Many trails were not groomed at all. The only set tracks I saw were 150 meters on the ironically named "Link" trail: those tracks weren't linked to any other tracks.

Evening
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
As of late afternoon the parking lot had not been plowed and no grooming had been done. A few people had classic skied. There is about 7" of new snow on top of the base.

Fast, controllable skating. Some hard-pack areas on the skating deck near the chalet but the deck shows more corduroy the farther out you go. Fast, firm tracks and surprisingly not a plethora of leaves except out on the old "Q" loop.

Excellent skating and classic. Some of the trails were re-groomed today with fresh corduroy and tracks.

Perhaps the best skiing conditions of the season. Some trails had new corduroy today and all the skating deck is firm with good edge control and 99% reliable pole plants. The classic tracks are firm and getting faster, for the most part free of oak leaves.

Evening
Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All trails have been groomed for skating and the deck is firm with solid pole plants. Tracks have been set on most of the trails and a couple of hills. The tracks are mostly firm, but the wind has kicked oak leaves into them in stretches. No tracks set on Big Falls or Dipsy Deux.
