Skied for 30 minutes from the Boedecker trailhead. Skiable but poor conditions to the north. Going south was a little better; skiable and fair. About 4 min continuous skiing without crossing grass. It's not great but if you aren't quite ready to give it up, it's skiing. I'm sure there are other pockets of skiable snow along the trail too.

I skied from OO going north about 9k. We skied on the skate north of Bodecker and took the classic coming back. The classic trail was in much better condition. The skate trail was very icy and climbing the hills was very hard work. There is still at least 3" of snow on most of the trail. There were a couple of hills that were quite open but we didn't have to take our skis off.

We skied from the start to the high point. We went south on the skate and came back north on the Classic. Temp was about 34 and we had Goldilocks conditions - sometimes icy, sometimes soft, but mostly just right. A word of caution: the gates are all closed, so be ready to stop if you're busting down the hills. Going south from Timber Trail there were some truck ruts but it was totally skiable. There was one portage about a km south of the High Point.

I skied too early this morning at the Hatchery. We've had magic spring crust for an hour or two around 11am to 1pm or so lately but at 8am the trail was way too icy. no classic tracks left. Open dirt in places, very icy in others. I think my next outings will be north of Mosquito Brook or OO.

North End access to Boedecker and back from 5:00 to 7:30PM. Good spring conditions, still a firm deck only a few melt through spots in open areas. Saw a red fox and tracks from someone who drove a truck up from timberline to 43k and back past Hecklers Hill to the snowmobile trail. Careful at the hill at 42k, the downhill is completely covered in tracks. Otherwise good spring skiing!

The Birkie trail south of picnic table hill was very good this morning. Fast, but not scary. The only bare spot I found was in the big open area near the 24 k mark where all the logging was done. It may be too warm for good skiing tomorrow but I think it will still be good for a while.

Crust skiing on the Birkie trail was great between Trailhead and Highpoint. Someone drove a truck on 5k of the skate deck near Bodecker, but otherwise very few frozen ruts from late afternoon skiers. Only found one bare spot. We bypassed the truck ruts by using the classic path which was groomed with a skate lane.

Great skiing on the Birkie Trail this weekend. The trail was freshly groomed for skating from Boedecker to OO on Saturday morning. Sunday morning was perfect crust skiing from OO to Timber trail and down the Birkie Ridge trail. Good edge, yet not icy. My ankles and feet were a bit tired by the end, but overall very enjoyable skiing. A truck drove onto the skate trail south of Timber Trail for a few kms. There are a few brown spots starting to open and and the trail is getting a bit dirty and a little gray, so the days are numbered. But, I would imagine the morning crust skiing should be pretty darn fun for at least a few more days!
