Trails are in fair condition with a dusting of snow over a solid base. The golf course has some slushy spots but should freeze with pending colder temps. No problem setting an edge when skating on most trails. There are no classic tracks set. Infrequent thin/bare spots but no contact with rocks or gravel. Use B skis just in case, or A skis if that is all you have because after all they are just pieces of plastic and you only visit here once, get out and ski.

Woods and golf course are groomed for skating. Golf course is skiable but many icy area and some grass showing through. Ski cautiously and rock skis recommended.

Temps did not get cold enough last night to groom. Please stay off the trails as they are soft. We will try grooming again tomorrow morning.

Underlying ice protruding into fresh snow on top. Kudos to the groomers for setting track. Most was very skiable. A little more snow and it will be awesome.

2-3" of new snow over an icy base. New snow has bonded to the icy base, our groomer is able to churn up ice from under the new snow to create good conditions. Shallow classic tracks are set on about 25% of the trails. Bicentennial trail has some overhanging tree limbs which are weighed down by the snow. Thanks to the other groomer who was out last night and this morning catching the snow at the right time. Get out and ski now.

Trails in the woods are a block of ice and dangerous. Golf course could be crust cruised. We cannot groom until we get more snow.

Skated all trails at Hixon, including golf course. Despite temperature above freezing during the day, the cold snow remained a firm, fast, boilerplate skate deck. Classic tracks present, but are hard, glazed over and very shallow in a number of spots especially on the golf course. Some thin spots, dirt and sticks, but mostly avoidable. Skied at night with headlamp, so used B skis, but thin spots and sticks probably avoidable during daylight hours.

Brushed off the skis for the first time this morning. Skated the golf course. Very hard work with the trails having a couple inches of new powder on top and soft base, but ground is completely covered. Saw the groomers out starting to roll so should have firmer trails later on today. No groomed classic tracks set yet, however there are tracks from other skiers. Not perfect conditions but we still had fun out there.
