Skied all of the outer loop at Three Island except for sections of the Brown trail that had not been groomed in awhile. The southernmost trails were newly groomed yesterday and had set up well. The northern sections had not been regroomed but even with some light snow on top were firm and the tracks were solid. The outer track, away from the skate lane, has some soft plant deck and some branches along the trail are encroaching, especially some at eye level. Impressed with the effort to keep the tracks from squeezing skate deck. All in all, great trails, well maintained and excellent signage!

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Three Island was groomed today and is in good shape, all trails except those with seasonal closures are rolled for skating, classic tracks are set for most of the trail segments, although some of the northern trail segments (orange trail, parts of the green) are rolled but not yet tracked for classic. Overall the trails are in great shape.

[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
According to Bemidji Ski Club facebook page the north trails Green, gold and brown were groomed Monday. South trails were ungroomed with about 4" of new fluffy snow over the base. Someone else skied in a classic track on the red trail that I followed and it was nicely packed.

Skied around the outer loop except north orange - not groomed but backcountry tracks made. Trails were great for skate and classic.

[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
I did a quick skate after work. The trails are thin, but very skiable with a few avoidable spots. Tree litter makes it hard (in areas) to spot if there is some bare ground, so I'd say rock skis, but you'll likely get by without damage. Some areas are fully covered and have great skiing, and most of the trails (all?) are groomed. I even saw some set tracks in an area. I skied 50 min, so I didn't see the entire system, but it all seems open. Nice trail.
