Trail Detail
Notes
My favorite road route in this area is just south of Richwood. About 10 miles north of Detoit Lakes. I start at the intesection of co. 21 and co. 26. I head east all the way to Tamarac Wildlife Refugee where the pavement ends and turns to gravel. The course is relatively flat with just a few small hills until the end where there is a nice long gradual 3-6 minutes climb. It is a great spot to do a hill workout since there isn't much traffic on the road. Total round trip distance is about 9 miles. The first 2.5 miles was paved last year. The road goes past a few lakes and in the evening hours it is almost certain to see deer, lots of waterfowl, timberwolves and maybe a moose. (Submitted by Jay Richards)Trail Reports
