Trail Detail
Notes
The Lake Wobegon® Trail is a 28 mile long, 10 foot wide, bituminous surfaced hike-and-bike pathway extending from the city of Avon to the city of Sauk Centre. The trail runs on the MN/DOT rail corridor formerly owned by Burlington Northern Railroad Company. The trail is also available for snowmobiling, however, use of metal studs on snowmobiles will be prohibited on the trail to help protect the damage caused by the studs on the snowmobile tracks. Additions to the trail are planned for later dates. The trail has already seen a lot of use by bikers, roller-skiers, roller bladers, and of course, walkers. (Submitted by Jay Wenner) Pros: New, very smooth surface. Avon to Albany section is the most scenic. Relatively light bike traffic. Cons: Old rail line so it's flat. Some road crossings.Trail Reports
