Upper Highway A: 20 miles, there and back. Start at intersection of Highway 77 and County Road A at Dow's Corners and Spider Lake Hotel east of Hayward, Wisconsin. Head north on County Road A to where blacktop Side trip off of Upper Hwy A: Brandt Road/Morgan Road. 10 miles there and back. Approximately 1 mile into Upper Highway A ride, take right on Brandt Road. Come to 4 way intersection at approximately 2 miles and take right on Morgan Road. Continue on Morgan Road to Hwy 77 and return back same way. Pros: Long uphills (Birkie like), new asphalt, aerobic, nice scenery, wooded. Cons: Long downhills, watch for some stones at the bottom of hills especially after rain. Helmet/protective gear is encouraged. (Submitted by Dan Manson)
