Conditions: West side is good!
Skied Monday night and the West side is good and ready for Finlandia! East side likely out of action this year. A few more inches of snow fell Monday night, so I expect the race course to be pristine for Saturday.

West side trails were re-groomed today. Skate deck is flat with a great top surface. Plenty of snow all the way through the west side - fast skate skiing with excellent control and speed. East side not so good with open areas where the wind carried the snow away.

Conditions: Ungroomed and on hold.
We have plenty of snow up here to hold the Finlandia. We are on hold for grooming until this threat of warm weather and possible rain passes this weekend. Grooming will start next week for the big event. We just want to avoid real icy conditions next week. Looking forward to the 34th annual Finlandia.

Conditions: 3 inches fresh snow, ungroomed.
Skiing was a bit tough as the snow from Monday (3 inches) has not been groomed in. This will be a great addition to the already sufficient snow for the trails and looking forward to the Finlandia!

Conditions: Excellent firm trail.
We were the first ones to ski the approximately 7km of trail that was groomed earlier this week. The tracks and the skating deck were firm and fairly fast considering the cold morning. The most westerly 5 km loop had not been groomed since the last snowfall and the east side trails (which were hard to find) also had not been groomed. I understand that they will be groomed soon in preparation for the Finlandia event in a couple of weeks.

Conditions: Freshly groomed.
The West side of Buena Vista Trail system was groomed Tuesday night for skate and classic. We received about 4 inches of new snow Sunday into Monday and with the rock solid and level base we had for the Snowjourn race, it should be in fantastic shape for Finlandia on Feb 27.

Conditions: 6-8" base solid coverage.
We had not heard much out of Bemidji on the Buena Vista Ski Trails and were not sure the snow coverage would be ample so we were pleasantly surprised arriving this morning to ski the Snowjourn event that utilizes the west side. Coverage is great and the fresh corduroy with 21 degrees temps were blazin! Always a good time with the Bemidji ski events. Great grooming!
