Nordic Woods
Stone Lake, WI
Trail Length: 15km  Maps:    [ Google Maps ]
Groomed: Skating/Classical    Lighted: N
Contact: 715-635-4490    Weather: [ NWS ]
Notes:   Mostly intermediate level trails are groomed for classical or both classic and skating. There is also a beginner loop. Skating sections tend to be quite narrow and the trail is remote and heavily wooded. Ideal classical terrain.

Snow is great but lots of tree debris, deer droppings and shallow trails in many places. There is some really nice sections though. Still a favorite place to ski with the dog. Met a small deer on the trail that "played" with the dog and then just laid down on the trail. That was different!

Conditions: Fresh 2 inches of snow, tracks still visible from yesterday's grooming.
A very pleasant intermediate classic track. I thoroughly enjoyed the time out. There are any number of trails, various distances from 11k to 3k and in between. Thanks a lot to the Washburn Co. grooming crew. Really appreciate it.

Conditions: Good 1" of snow over skied in tracks and deck, shallow set tracks.
Nicely designed trails rolling, between many small lakes, pleasant trail to ski if looking for a change from the birkie trail.

Conditions: Blue sky, no wind and temps in the teens.
My wife Teresa and I skied a couple laps on this beautiful, classic only trail. The tracks varied a bit but the snow was firm and fairly fast. A great place for a quiet ski just south of Hayward. Thanks to the Washburn Co groomers.
