Notes

The trail is located about two blocks West of Hwy 169 on Bass Lake Rd. Overall this is a nice little gem. The terrain is very gentle and seems an ideal place for a family with small children or beginner skiers.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skied the pike lake trail Wednesday about dusk. This trail is classic only. Was pleasantly surprised that the trail had been freshly groomed. Excellent conditions. Was a cold day near zero but the woods kept the wind away for the most part. Did not get a chance to ski the Eagle Lake Trail but it looks like it was groomed also.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Walked a block and then broke trail across Pike Lake and the narrow opening in the cattails to get on the Eagle/Pike Lake trail. I skied counter clockwise. The classic track was good...a little soft in spots. It weaves through the woods with ups and downs twists and turns some of which are too tight to stay in the track but there was a packed lane on the left. My right pole was sometimes in the deep stuff. Pretty trail which I hadn't skied in years.

Excellent conditions for classic on both Pike Lake and Eagle Lake trails. Temp late afternoon about 1 below but not much wind. Woods protected me from the wind about one third the time. Freshly groomed, skate lane on Eagle Lake trail waiting for first skier.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skied both Pike Lake and Eagle Lake trails late afternoon during snowfall of 3-4 inches. This fresh snow covered the tracks so had to make new track. Plenty of snow so hope it gets groomed tomorrow.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
Skied Pike Lake trail around dusk. 17 below but woods protected me from west wind quite a bit. There was a snowmobile track most of the way but no grooming and no ski track. Never observed such partial grooming here before. Managed to stay warm.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
Skied Pike Lake trail and around Birdie golf course. About 5 inches of fresh snow made for great conditions although nothing groomed. Broke some new track and used some existing skier made track. Below zero and windy but it was worth it seeing two bald eagles near a nest to the east of the driving range.
