Trail Reports

2018-2019 season
Reports 1 to 10 of 47    Month: Mar | Feb | Jan

[ Trails Open: Partial, Rock skis ]
I was desperate to see what Greenbush was like and desperate to get one last ski in. I skied the back side of the purple, part of the green and the brown trails. Pretty much the bottom and descent of any hill is ice. I did not ski the big downhills on the green or purple because of the ice. There were some great flat sections that were fast. The power line is completely melted on the red and purple trails. There are bare sections near the marsh on the purple. The brown trail in the woods was quite good, some ice at the bottom of the hills. The road section of the brown trail is mainly ice. I skied as the temperatures were transitioning from freezing to thaw. There was nice corn snow. The sandhill cranes, redwing blackbirds, and geese were making all sorts of noise near the marsh, I guess it is their turn and skiing is just about done. If you give it a try make sure you are an experienced skier and you go when the trail is starting to soften up.

If you gotta get out, you can make it around the purple loop. About 60% ice, also slow over the pine needles. Lots of polling. Not for novice skiers. Almost impossible to turn on downhills. Great to be out in the sunshine, however, looking forward to next season.

Still in good skiable condition this morning. Even though green and purple trail were not groomed after last rain/snow they have been skied in. So has the classic track.

Terry groomed the skate deck late Monday afternoon. Brown and Red trails only made for a great workout. Will be good till it warms up Tuesday.

I skate skied the purple, green, and brown trails this morning. The skate deck had been freshly groomed either late last night or early this morning. The snow is in excellent condition. The skate deck was actually a bit soft despite the cold temperatures today. Absolutely no problems keeping control on the downhills. Some debris under evergreens but not bad. The classic track looked to be in good shape.

Very good conditions - full coverage, wide, flat deck. Excellent edging and bite on uphills. Good control on downhills, with minimal icing/banking. Used A1 skis with Toko blue glide wax and had nice glide. Get out and enjoy the next few days before the warmer weather comes in. Be sure to thank a groomer - the Greenbush crew has done a fantastic job with keeping these trails in great shape with the roller-coaster winter weather we have had.

3" new snow groomed over a firm base made for very enjoyable ski conditions. The smooth groomed surface enhanced balance results in a gliders paradise. We skied over 25k on the purple, red, and green. The forest was beautiful with the sun shining through the snow laden trees.

Conditions are great at Greenbush, Pink, Green, Red, Purple Black, Brown all are good, red just a little bit icy. Just a few twigs poking through on the classical track. Much better than the past several years.

Did a few laps on the black and it was perfect! My favorite trail. Also did the brown. Was worried that perhaps it would be icy but the newly groomed snow set up real nice on top. Fun fun.
