All the trails have been ripped up with new tracks and skate deck set. Skiers should find some good late season skiing conditions.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Very early this morning the deck was resurfaced, and classic tracks reset. We are hoping the trail will hold up during the upcoming warm stretch. Expect conditions to soften as you approach afternoon. Try to limit skiing on the trail during the mid-day, because the trails will disintegrate quickly. We're trying to preserve the trails, because grooming will be limited. As conditions permit we will be out grooming, but not until next week, at the earliest.

Got another 5 inches of more fluffy than wet snow last night. Washburn was completely redone, new tracks and deck. If the temperatures stay low, it should set up nicely.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
After the last two days of freezing rain, sleet, and snow the trails got a complete makeover this morning. The tracks were ripped up and new ones set, and as it cools this evening should firm up nicely. Along with the tracks the skates lanes were freshened, and they too will be solid.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Conditions were excellent this morning. The tracks are fast, a little icy(but not bad), and the skates lanes are firm. The groomers spent a lot of time on Friday p.m. getting the trail ready. They did a superb job, because the snow was not very cooperative.

Probably hard to prove, but I think this may be the overall, best trail system in the Midwest. Diverse, vertiginous, never boring. Conditions excellent, except for that little problem with the classic "short cut to Parking Lot" cut off, which does, unexpectedly. But stay on the trails, and you'll find depth, resilience, a great "deck," as one of the great groomers in this area, likes to call it.

The conditions at Washburn could not be any better. Classic tracks were firm, and smooth. They were rest on Friday and are in excellent shape. The skate desk was cleaned up this morning, and is solid, as well. It was a gorgeous morning/afternoon to be skiing at Washburn.

Some great grooming provided silky smooth tracks over terrific terrain. The perfect venue for a glorious green wax day!

Excellent afternoon of striding at Washburn on my first visit there! The grooming was great and the variety of terrain was excellent. I suppose it was too cold for many skiers but was a little surprised at the small number of skiers out there.

The skate deck refreshed today and was setting up nicely. Classic tracks are unchanged from yesterday and were holding their own.
