No grooming has been completed recently on the trail. We skied the Krankkala Spur to Scribner's Shelter (parking our car on Lagoon Road) - approx. 3 hours total. Trails are all backcountry skiing at this point (~10" of fresh snow), making it difficult to find the trail at certain times. If you're up for the challenge, the adventure is worth it on a sunny day. Pack a snack and a beer and enjoy.

Wow. Awesome. Lots of snow cover and great track setting in a spectacular setting. I have wanted to ski the Uller for many years, and with the great grooming reports, I finally had my chance. The trail did not disappoint... what a spectacular setting. The groomers did a great job, knowing when to keep the track and when to pull it on challenging downhills. Started at the Lagoon trailhead in Iron Belt and skied to White Cap including circuits of the yellow and orange loops. One note: the Pence and Kangas trail spurs shown on map do not appear to be currently groomed, so trailheads are at Hoyt Rd., Lagoon, and Weber Lake. There are some challenging descents on these trails, but with a sense of caution and intermediate skills, the trails are groomed well enough to wedge one ski in the track, or snowplow with both skis where tracks are lifted so many interested classic skiers should be able to enjoy these wonderful trails. Thanks to Iron County for the great grooming, these trails are fantastic!

Wonderful job grooming. Was a beautiful bright day and you couldn't ask for better conditions. A challenge for me and I think this trail would be challenging for anybody. Good idea to bring a fellow skier with you.

Had a great ski, freshly groomed. Some of the best scenery you will find. Some of the downhills are a bit scary, but a lot of fun none the less!

Epic. This remote trail groomed for classic only kicked our ass. Steep descents with sharp turns will challenge anyone. USFS made some upgrades and added two loops to a what was developed as a one way ski trail back in the 1970s. Worth seeking out next time you are at ABR. About 20 minutes east of Ironwood on Wis Hwy 77.

It appears that Iron County has invested a lot in this trail during the off-season. Bridges have been built, wet areas detoured, and new loops added. Grooming appears to be more frequent as well. We started at the Weber Lake Trailhead, and the trail was hit hard by snowshoers for the first km, but then turned into nice skiing in a track covered with 2-3 inches of snow. Snow is deep, and no evidence of the ground is seen. A few sticks poke through the groomed surface here and there. With continued grooming, this trail should be a great ski for the rest of the season.
