Notes:   The Lester-Amity trail offers 15K of varied terrain for beginner to experienced skiers through pine, aspen, and birch forests. An additional 3K circles the Lester Park Golf Course and is accessible from the main Lester-Amity Trail. The openness of the golf course offers an excellent place for beginning cross-country skiers, and several short cuts are available. There is also a 5K trail portion that is lit in the mornings and evenings.

	Conditions: Not groomed but one rough skier-tracked path. Pretty chewed up by snowshoers. Even though the conditions weren't great, there is plenty of snow. It was a beautiful morning to be out! (Sheryl Williams)

	Conditions: Not bad... for hiking. I took a walk on the trails Sunday morning to see if anyone had attempted to ski, and sure enough, someone had. I imagine that person now has a pair of 'stone ground' skis in their quiver. We need snow, plain and simple. Photos:   (Bryan French, Duluth XC Ski Club)

	Conditions: Dubious. The recent storm left something to be desired in east Duluth. We took a look at the trail from the Seven Bridges Road parking lot area--there was about 2 inches of snow. I don't think it's really skiable, although I think my wife is going to get the garage sale skis out and give it a try tonight. (Erik Riker-Coleman)
