Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Pretty good crust skiing. Very firm clean snow with enough give to get a good skating edge at 830AM. It'll likely still be good tomorrow morning if it freezes overnight though with a few less connections than today. A little pock-marked - not perfectly glass like Hyland Lake earlier this year. One other classic skier out here smiling in addition to a large eagle scouting out potential trees all over the golf course.

I enjoyed fairway crust skiing at sunrise this morning, and it was wonderful! The crust is thick and held my weight, you barely make a mark on the snow unless you make an edge. It is such unusual skiing!

[ Trails: Closed, Good skis ]
Classic, skier-made trails throughout the course, however, my heart breaks that they are not grooming Hiawatha with all this wonderful snow. Hiawatha is best in the sub-freezing morning light, before the high sun makes things too sloppy.

Attempted skating, had to stop because I was laughing too hard. Switched to classic skis and had a little success, but skis were totally submarined under the snow. Nothing groomed, lots of drifting, and very difficult to follow the trail markers. Grooming would be a godsend!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Groomed the 4k loop this morning, but the 1k and 2k cutoffs were not done. Classic tracks, skate trail and hiking trail all good. Even with the warming temperatures, the conditions remain quite good. There are a few places were it briefly gets icy, but all in all it is very skiable. Get out there and enjoy the day!

Hiawatha is in great condition. Firm and fast with a few icy spots. With the lower temps, we have avoided the freeze/thaw crust.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Hiawatha groomers were out this afternoon to groom the walking trail for our friends who are out walking dogs and skijoring. Conditions this morning were fast and firm with good coverage.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Hiawatha groomers were out in full force today with a morning roll, afternoon roll and nighttime groom. The classic track is set, and the conditions look great. Whoever makes it out first thing tomorrow can look forward to fresh corduroy.

Skated first but the track had too much blown-in snow so I switched to classic just as the groomer showed up and rolled it several times. It looked good for skating when he was done and it should set up great overnight with temps in the teens. There weren't classic tracks but it was still very skiable and my 'skins' worked well. The west side of the trail will probably pick up loose snow from the wind but it's great to have decent skiing 10 minutes away in south Minneapolis in March - thanks groomers!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
I rolled the trails this morning. There is a skate ski trail along the 4K Trail. There is no 1k, 2k or classic tracks. There are sections of wetness and water that I did my best to avoid. The trail is slightly different than when it has been all winter to avoid the water areas. We will try to groom it later tonight weather-dependent.
