Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Believe it or not we are still skiing at Hidden Valley. We are still grooming and trails are in surprisingly good shape. The back half of Bambas is closed, but skiers can still do a Pine Valley to Bambas loop. Birch Highlands, Powerline and Sommers are doing fine. If we get fresh snow we will set track.

Skied Sommers loop, well groomed. Fast and a tiny bit icy but groomer had done an excellent job of softening up for control. No track set.

Great spring skiing at Hidden Valley! Coverage was very good on most sections of the skate and classic trails, and less than ideal sections were easily worked around.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Believe it or not we are still skiing almost all our trails at Hidden Valley. Skate skiing is wonderful. The skate deck is wide and smooth. We are still grooming but are no longer setting classic tracks. Come on out before the sun and rain do their work. We live in a winter wonderland.

All trails open except Pine Park. Plenty of new snow. Trails are flat, wide and buttery smooth. Classic tracks on all main trails.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Skied the entire outer loop minus the swamp on the Sommers loop. Good skis, skate deck nice and firm. Classic track set but some grass showing in a few spots. Inner trails may be a bit rougher, but overall pretty solid. Also one of a handful of locations that Ski Hut (Duluth) will allow you to take rental skis.

Hidden Valley is freshly groomed after the latest snowfall. I skated the power line, Sommers, Bambas, Birch Highlands and Varsity Hill. Classic tracks weren't set yet.

We have been skiing at Hidden Valley since early November but trail conditions have deteriorated to a great extent and we are receiving rain and warm weather today. Stay tuned.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Hidden Valley has a well packed base of snow that is thin in some places and icy in others but partially groomed for both classic and skate skiing over many miles of trails. Local skiers are using the area and enjoying the early snow. The forecast is for cold and a little light snow so skiing should be pretty good this weekend.
