Trails in pristine condition. The 2018 24 Hours of Lappe was a perfect event. The parking lot was full of cars from Minnesota! Lots of people from the U of MN. The weather and snow conditions were firm and fast. Best day ever.

Trails are holding up pretty well. Skate conditions on the main, 4.6K loop this morning were excellent---PB groomed, smooth and fast. Classic tracks on the 4.6 looked good as well. Most other trails previously groomed remain open and are fair to good, with dirty snow and tree litter being the only real issues. Watch out for a few bumps and ice patches, and the occasional thin spot. Probably not worthy of a long road trip yet. New snow expected next week.

Lappe Nordic reporting: Yesterday's rain and warm temperatures took their toll, but ski conditions remain very good. The 4.6, Maaritta's, Toilet Bowl, and Pilon were regroomed with the odd bit of dirt showing. Emmy Lane is also now open - classic good, skating fair to good and a bit bumpy.

Lappe reports: With a warm forecast and rain possible, the Ski Centre may be closed to skiing this Friday to preserve their base.

Another great day of skiing at Lappe. Plenty of people out on the trails, even on a Tuesday afternoon. Cold (-10c) and windy this afternoon, so quite a few spruce needles and some minor drifting on the trails, but otherwise perfect. About 6km, including the entire night skiing loop, has been piston bully groomed for the past week and is very firm and fast--excellent for both skate and classic. Another couple of km has been done with the ginzu and is mostly good to very good. Very solid base throughout.

Latest update: With a lot of traffic and +2C temps, the 6k of trail took some wear and tear tonight. Skate and classic skiing remains very good with a few trouble spots. We are asking that on Wednesday please wait until later in the afternoon to ski, when temperatures are expected to be cooler.

Grooming report: With some strategic shoveling and 1 - 2 cm of fresh snow fallen tonight, both skate and classic conditions have improved to mostly very good. Trails open include 4.6, Toilet Bowl, Pilon's, Klukie (classic).

Well into week two of the season here, and conditions are mostly good (varies from fair to very good) for skating. Excellent full depth classic tracks. Much more snow out at Lappe than elsewhere in town. The ground is pretty well frozen now and with a bit more snow it should be really good.
