Don't use your A skis, B skis, C skis, or rock skis; but bring your water skis (see photo)! Major flooding along the trails as they do go through the flood plain of the Pigeon River.

I went out to groom this morning but I couldn't get the grooming shelter doors to open due to ice build-up on the bottom of the doors. I didn't have the tools to chop-up the ice. I took a walk on the edge of the trail in Evergreen and the trail is completely snow covered. It is hard and crunchy but not solid ice. A fair amount of debris on the trail. The classic track took a hit in the last rain/snow.

There is still excellent conditions out there for both skate and classic skiing. The skate deck was well used since I groomed yesterday morning but still in good shape. There are a few icy spots. Be very cautious on the downhill at Maywood North. There is a fair amount of foot and bike traffic on the trail. Fortunately it is solid enough not to be ruined.

I regroomed Evergreen and Maywood South this morning. A classic track was reset. They are still in great condition. I spoke to a skier who said Maywood North was still in good condition. Please be careful as we head into warmer temperatures. If the snow gets too soft then skaters will set big grooves in the trail -- we don't want this! It is very hard to groom out once we get temperatures below freezing. Be nice to the trails and please take a rest day and wait for cooler temperatures. The snow depth is good. Let's see if we can get good skiing through the end of the month.

This is as good as it gets for March skiing in Sheboygan. I regroomed the skate deck yesterday on all trails and skied them yesterday and today. I don't ever recall conditions this good in March. The air temperature may have been cold the last few days but the sun is warm and makes for great spring skiing. There is some debris under spruce trees, especially on the furthest west cutoff trail; I didn't bother skiing the cutoff trail today. The upper trail at Maywood North has some serious drifting across the trail near the farm field. The classic track is in pretty good shape, with a few areas washed out. Enjoy!
