We drove up to have one last ski on our favorite White Pine loop. We had 3 inches of new snow but someone had gone before us to break trail. All was great until we turned for home. There we discovered extensive logging operations next to the trail. We were so sad. I have always wondered about who owned the land Northwoods is on...I hope this is not the end of the trail system. It would be awful to lose this Silver Bay gem.

Great ski through the Palisade Valley to Tettegouche State Park along with a loop of Nortwoods. Easy skiing with amazing views. Started out with VR40. Switched to 45. As the temperature rose and the sun came out I wish I had Oslo violet or 1814. Lost all grip in the sun. But a great day out nonetheless. Time to get the klister out!

Have been looking for a re-groomed classic trail after the winds blew debris down and drifted over tracks. Onion River Road, Sugarbush haven't seen a groomer in awhile. Northwoods has been recently groomed (classic only) and was excellent today. Not too much debris left in the track. It didn't look like the trail to Tettegouche campground was groomed but the main circuit up to the top of the hill, Bean Lake and East Loops were fantastic. Thank you trail keepers!

Just went along until the trail to connect up to Tettegouche, but the trails were in very good shape. Light dusting of snow this morning meant that there was powder on tracks, but they were still well-formed and pleasant. There were some soft pole plants, but the track was in such good shape, it did not make a difference. One index of the snow depth--crossing the snowmobile trail requires removing the skis (or braving a pretty big drop off).

Recently groomed and in terrific shape. Firm, deep track. Some soft pole plants. This is such a beautiful trail, narrow and intimate with some dramatic vistas.
