It is remarkable how great the skiing still is with the warm weather. The tracks are firm and holding up well. Conditions range from soft and slow to hard and fast. We skiied at midday and except for a few sloggy spots, it was very good conditions. I used a very old pair of waxless skis with a Swix liquid glide wax on the entire ski to prevent ice up, which was a problem early this week. It worked great! Get out there. Bring a map and cash to donate to trail grooming.

Kudos to the groomers to getting out so quickly after this big snow. Despite mid 20 degree temps., the trails were surprisingly firm. We both used waxless skis and conditions were excellent on this beautiful trail. Be aware if you have not skied here before: Take a map and study it. Trails are mostly one way but you have to look for that little arrow on the map because there are no wrong way signs. Trails are not rated for difficulty so look at the topo marks before you choose your route. Intersections are not labeled. It is easy to get lost.

Freshly groomed but a bit soft and slow. Skied only the river trail but lots of people out using the full network. Perfect conditions for the bigger hills. Beautiful day. 24 degrees with special purple wax.

Did the outside loop, some of the Tettegouche connector, Herringbone Hill, trail to Bean Lake, trail to scenic overlook in the thick of the heavy snow. Snow was deep, but track was discernible. Beautiful trails and a great day to ski. Will be perfect once they get a chance to groom. Be sure to leave a donation in the donation box.

Pretty decent conditions despite warmer temps on Wednesday. The bit of fresh snow Wed am really helped keep the trails in good shape. There are several icy spots in odd places and a few thin areas, but overall the trails are in good shape. The single track trails are getting harder to find so enjoy this one while conditions are good. The Palisade trail to Tettegouche has been groomed and appears to also be in good shape. Just a bit more snow would really help.

Beautiful conditions. Single classic tracks throughout the system. Well laid out. The best grooming we have had this trip.
Glad we had a map with us since we had never been on the trails before. Sunny afternoon. Trail head parking lot a little difficult to find as there is no sign near the road. It is on the right off of Hwy 5 a few miles up from Hwy 61. Very pretty trails.

Snow falling. We skied the outermost loop and the spur to the lake, but I think it's representative of the trail system. Recently groomed, but skied in as well. It was a fabulous, beautiful trip up the shore and worth our time. We maxed out the junior member of the team at 9km today, but would otherwise have stayed to do the whole system. If you bring your kids remind them that the snowmobile trail is active, especially on weekends -- we saw a very respectful party of five sleds. It was useful to send the junior member first to pace the group, but she doesn't see a whole lot of snowmobiles crossing the ski trails we frequent in Duluth.

Northwoods trails were fast and fun even with the warm temps. The Tettagouche connector is tracked and in good shape except for some brush poking up by the trail.

Fast today. Skied to Bean Lake and across. The downhills are fast. The tracks are in reasonable good form.

Another glorious ski on this beautiful single track system. We skied on newly groomed trails on a sunny, warming day with blue/purple wax. It is getting warmer, so I don't know how long before it gets fast and icy. You can contribute to grooming costs at a box before you reach the map panel when you begin your ski. Take a map along and pay attention. Trails are not well marked.
