Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Rock skis ]
Spring is bringing an end to the skiing season at Lake Tomahawk. I encountered many bare areas and icy areas. Some stretches were good but short in length. Roots are popping up in the new extension. Thanks to Scott for the nice grooming this season. Work continues on the new warming cabin, and it should be open for the next skiing season.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomed entire system today. Made about 7 passes with the groomer to try to pack it down. Hoping it will set up nicely overnight. All the leaves and pine needles were covered with the snow yesterday. Got the snowmobile stuck on one of the uphill turns, after winching out was amazed to see the trail base is at least 18 inches deep! The conditions are very good right now. The farthest loop out to barnes rd is groomed classic only as is the classic trail. All else is both skate and classic. It is a little narrow in spots due to all the snow. Shoulda rolled it wider earlier in the season.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The entire Tomahawk trail system has been rolled and groomed. With all the snow over the past week the result is great conditions. The farthest loop was groomed for classic only and of course the classic only trail only has classic tracks. The classic track on the entire trail system are full depth and solid. The skate deck is flat and firm. The only issue is the leaves and pine needles that blew down in yesterdays high winds. With all the snow the lowest spot in the woods is not the trail itself, thus it collects blowing oak leaves. If you want to work out some soreness from birkie weekend this would be a great place to do it.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The entire system was groomed today. The skate deck firmed up nicely. Being a new groomer I probably packed the classic track too much which made some portions of the track a bit crumbly. All in all, best conditions of the year.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Rolled all the trails today. Was able to make around 4 passes with the groomer. With all the snow it is taking awhile to pack down and level. The classic only trail is freshly groomed with full depth tracks. The rest of the trails can be skied but aren't finished and have no track set. I plan to finish grooming Friday morning, which should make for excellent conditions for the afternoon and weekend.

Rolled all the trails and groomed everything except the Barnes Rd connector. 7k classic/skate trails and a 2k classic only trail are in great condition. The new snow has made for the best conditions of the year.

Groomed both skate and classic today on all trails except the Barnes Rd connector. Skate deck looks good. Classic tracks are a bit crumbly due to cold dry snow.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Both skate and classic trails were groomed today. Including the new section that connects to Barnes road. The skate dwck was well packed and flattened. The classic tracks are nearly full depth. Still a few roots and twigs sticking up, but the trails are in good shape.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Overall quite good! Thank you grooming volunteers. Skate lane was a bit soft and uneven in places. The classic track is good except under the pines and where the water froze in the trail. Enjoy...
