I wanted to get one more day of skiing in after returning to WI from Florida (where I was biking with a good group and running the beach in 80 degrees). I skied this trail once around the loop about 4:30 in the afternoon. If trail had been groomed it would have been fun. There are lots of deep footprints from people walking the trail in the soft snow, and I even passed a couple as they walked the trail. After I skied this loop I went over to Timberhills West to see how that is holding up with this melt.

3 inches of dry new snow. Rolled and combed. Great skating deck east of Coon Lake. The adult bald eagles are hanging around the nest and doing repairs. Should be a top ten Birkie coming up.

Rolled and the combed the latest 3" of new snow. Good base building up. Skate deck is good. Didn't set new tracks yet, waiting to see how warm the next few days get.

Finally got another 2+ inches of dry snow on Sunday. Rolled and combed the trail east of Coon Lake. No tracks yet, need a couple more inches. Skate deck is flattening out nicely. 97% good base and coverage. Two spots with a little lakeshore grass peeking out.
