Gently rolling hills, smooth blacktop and little to no traffic make this route great roller skiing. National forest land the entire length...no private lands. This was my own personal ski trail last summer, save for a few bear hunters training their dogs. Pavement is approximately 4 years old on a formerly gravel road thru the Nicolet National Forest. Ski on Divide Rd (FR 2176) from Luna-White Deer campground road south 6.5 miles to Sheltered Valley Rd (FR 2182). For extra distance 2.2 miles of Sheltered Valley Rd also have new pavement. Recommend NOT skiing north of Luna-White Deer campground as traffic increases and road becomes much more technical. Pros: You are out there by yourself. On Labor Day weekend I skied 50k and saw 9 cars total. Cons: You are out there by yourself. (Submitted by Dan Statz)
