Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
No new grooming at Wildcat but a light dusting of snow overnight has freshened the trails nicely. Main loop, shortcut loop and larger overlooks (Johnnycake and Billings Creek) were groomed and tracked. Smaller overlooks are skier tracked only. Campground loop continues to be rolled only, not tracked.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Posted as B skis due to mild leaf/tree litter on trails and about 7 very short sections (3-7 feet) with occasional underlying bark/ground/rock exposure. Good skis could be used as long as skier is alert and willing to ski around these short stretches. Trails are groomed and main trail is completely tracked. Billing's Creek and Johnnycake overlooks are also groomed/tracked. Razorback Ridge and Schinnick Valley overlooks are skier tracked. Conditions are still good, the scenery is great and the temperatures are very comfortable. Enjoy!

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Very good conditions today, with the entire 10K red loop groomed for skate and set with classic tracks. The shorter campground loop is rolled only. Some soft spots due to the large snowfall last week, especially on NE face. Two overlooks have well skied, off trail tracks.

Firsthand: Classic Secondhand
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
At least 14 inches of fresh snow that fell last week made a park staffer report that these are the best snow conditions he has seen in the park since he arrived 8 years ago. All the trails were freshly rolled and tracked today and are in excellent condition. The trails are near the ridgetop, but mostly wooded so they are generally protected from the wind. The trails are mildly undulating without steep hills, but a lot of them have some side slope which beginners may find difficult. There are fantastic views from the overlooks and this is a great place to get out and enjoy a silent winter sport.

Night
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Wildcat got approximately 14 inches of new snow last week. Park staff has rolled the full trail, the shortcut loop, the campground trail and the two larger overlooks. They did limited tracking on the trail, but the snow was still soft enough that it disrupted the tracks when they re-rolled in the afternoon.

Observation
[ Trails Open: Partial ]
The main trail is open and rolled but not tracked. As it is actively snowing and the winds are supposed to be high, it is unlikely that staff will keep up or improve trail conditions during the snowfall. They usually have to prioritize plowing otherwise the park is not accessible to any users. The Torchlight ski event that was supposed to be held tomorrow night has been canceled by park staff out of concerns for safety given the subzero windchill predicted. There is hope it will be rescheduled.
