Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
Today the Arboretum groomed a single track on half of the trails. We were the first ones on them at 11. Low spots and sun baked spots had twigs or grass showing through. Generally very good. So peaceful. Give it a try with rock or B skis. I used my skins (no skating there).

[ Good skis ]
The Arboretum was beautiful this morning from 11-12:15. I followed some freshly skied in trail for awhile and then got onto some snowshoe tracks. The snow was deep and fluffy. As it got towards noon my skins started icing up. Oh well, it was the first time ever to ski in April in the Midwest. I reminded me of the early 70's breaking your own trail for training.

Best condition in years! All trails were freshly groomed after the big snow dump. Tracks were still near perfection in the afternoon when I arrived.

Trails were only just rolled, so very soft and no tracks had been set yet but plenty of folks have been out making their own tracks. Such a beautiful day to be out in the woods so no complaints. Get out there for some old fashioned trail blazing skiing.
