Trail Detail
Notes
Brunet Island's trails pass through an otherwise undeveloped section of the park. The terrain is rolling with plenty of hills but none very large. Skiers pass through a mix of hardwood and evergreen forest, and ski a ridge within sight of the Fisher River.Trail Reports

The Nordic Trail was groomed this evening and should set up very well. Conditions tomorrow should be great, but there will be a little fresh snow on it. The candlight loop will not be groomed. The section that runs between park road and the river is impassable due to the volume of snow.

Groomed up the Nordic Trail this evening and it looks to be excellent. Should firm up better than last time, too. We're leaving the Candlelight loop until after the next snowfall.

All trails have been groomed and are in generally excellent condition. The candlelight loop was just finished, so will be a little soft today. The Nordic Trail appears to have set up well, but there may be scattered soft spots due the the amount of snow we had to work.

Almost no snow until Feb 5th and then 14-16 inches in a three day stretch. The Nordic Trail was groomed this evening. Looks to be in beautiful shape. Overnight drifting may affect it a little but the trail is very sheltered and only a couple spots are susceptible. Hope to get the candlelight loop (the gentler loop on the island) early Saturday so it's ready for the weekend.

Finally were able to get out and drag the trails today. Hopefully it will survive the weekend thaw and form a good base, but there's too much debris and uneven snow cover to set tracks. Copious amounts of oak leaves due to deer foraging for acorns, plus sticks, etc. You can negotiate your way around the trail, but it won't make for very good skiing. The Candlelight loop on the island is the more skiable of the two. Use your rock skis if you come.
