The School Forest Trails received about 20" from this weekend's storm. Stevie C. and I decided we shouldn't let it go to waste so we groomed the 'A' Trail on Tuesday. Classic tracks and smooth skate lane look real nice. Should be some great conditions for a few more days. Enjoy!

Our trail system received 9" of new snow this week. All trails were groomed and classic track set on all trails. There are a couple of bare spot that can be avoided but we should have very good trail conditions through the weekend. Please note: all trail signs have been shored, the portable toilet has been removed and the lodge will not be open....but the trails are great!

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Conditions are excellent on freshly groomed trail--best of the year. Classical track is deep and solid, and skating deck is firm, but still provides good control on the downhills. No debris issues whatsoever. Glide was terrific in the mid-teen temperatures.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
We lost some snow from the rain Thursday but it was replaced with new denser snow in the afternoon. Trail conditions are very similar to last weekend. All skate lanes will be groomed Friday afternoon and are in good condition with a few twigs and rock showing. We only have about 2" of base so we are not able to set any more classic track. The tracks that were set last week have filled with new snow and are in fair to good condition.

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Every inch counts. We are slowly achieving favorable trail conditions as we seem to get about an inch of new snow every other day. We set classic tracks on our A trail and all the skate lanes have good coverage. There are a few bare spots and twigs so B skis are recommended. This Sunday, Jan. 7 we have our Open House with free skiing all day. Come out and enjoy the trails.

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Trails have about 1-2" of packed base with new powder on top. Some sticks and twigs poking through but most trails well covered. Better than rock ski conditions but there may be a scratch or two. Lodge will be open Saturday from 1:00 - 4:00. Portable toilet on-site. Bundle-up and enjoy the trails.

[ Trails: Closed, Bare ground ]
We have about 3-4" of light fluffy snow on our trails. The ski trails were rolled to compact what we have but we need at least 4 more inches before we get to rock ski conditions. The snow bike trails are frozen solid and riders are tracking in the light snow. Bikin' good, Skiin' not!
