Trail was still in good shape today but steep hills were ice. If going today they should still be good.

I arrived around 9:30 am expecting hard, crusty, icy tracks after temperatures reached the upper 30's on Wednesday. I was pleasantly surprised to find 80% of the trail to be very good. The other 20% was still good just a little crusty but not icy. In fact, I had good control on the two big hills. There appeared to be only minor use of the trail system since it was last groomed on Tuesday. I skied the red and the green trails and both were quite enjoyable.

classic tracks are in very good condition. It was a pleasure to ski them today. If going tomorrow do so in the morning when the temps are still low and the skiing should still be very good.

The trails had lots of snow and were double tracked. This trail is not for beginners. Many of the hills are icy and difficult. The signage was poor. The only good signs said "One Way".

We skied Madeline Lake Trail Friday. Track was firm and fast. Great day to be out in the woods! We actually hadn't skied Madeline in years. We forgot what a great trail this is. It may be our new favorite!

I skied the blue loop and picked up the red loop at the far end. The freshly groomed trails were very much welcomed after skiing the Escanaba yesterday and the Anvil trail earlier this afternoon. There was fresh snow with ice crust on both of those trails. The Madeline Lake trails were all meticulously groomed making for very good ski conditions. My only complaint would have to be track speed. I have seen this track faster but speed was still very good.
