Notes

Within the West Bend city limits sits a 148-acre natural area connected another 35 acres of neighborhood park. It offers a beautiful setting in the hilly Kettle Moraine. The groomed trails traverse a prairie and take you through a deciduous woodland and a red pine plantation. Other ungroomed trails are open for both skiers and snow-shoers.

I rolled and packed the trails on Tuesday. The very dry snow compressed to barely 2", not enough to set a classic track. Coverage is good throughout the Conservancy, even in the Royal Oaks woods and pine plantation.
