Skate deck was groomed this morning. Survived the weekend better than anticipated. Classic tracks looked to still be in pretty decent condition. It's mid-March and we are still skiing.

All trail is set with tracks. Most are glazed, but skins are fine and I believe fish scales would work well. It is surprisingly good for March 13! Only a few icy patches and very occasional bare spot. Skate deck looked "A" skis. It was firm this morning. Skate deck was not groomed recently but it was not icy.

Excellent classic tracks at U of M Golf Course today. Only a few minor icy patches - used skins - some of the best skiing of the season!

Good conditions on both loops as of 500am Thursday. Great coverage on the skate deck throughout, with a skied-in track in most places. The few icy patches are obvious and easily avoidable. Parts of the trail are uneven and rutted, but not icy and generally easy to set an edge. Probably will only improve with some sun, and even an inch of snow would make it terrific. Good skis would be fine in daylight; B skis may be better in the dark due to occasional tree debris.

We skied the East trails; I thought they were really good. A little variable perhaps, but miraculous work with smaller grooming equipment and natural snow.
Skate deck was good -- a little narrow, and a pressure ridge where the equipment made passes. I can see it being more challenging when it hardens/glazes, but for neighborhood skiing it was awesome. Really appreciate the grooming -- obviously they put a lot of thought into time of day they groomed. Sun and heat will of course transform it, but if I can get out there the morning after an evening groom this week -- I will.

If you stay out of the "water hazards" and the "sand traps" you'll be OK. Yes, avoid the watery spots and there is a lot of blowover snow in open areas on the east side, especially the driving range. But hey, it is a golf course eh? Thanks for the hard work for our March skiing Mitch.

Spent a lot of hours in the groomer today/tonight to get the trail back to life. After quite a few passes things are looking great and should set up nice for the morning with the temps. There is not a classic track set as the tracksetter was not excited about functioning tonight. I will try to get a track set Wednesday. Happy spring skiing and thanks for coming out!

I skied the trails the day before and looking at them today, there seemed to be enough coverage to ski. Yesterday the skate track was full of ridges from warmer days that had frozen up, but that's probably better now that it's warmer again. There are slushy patches throughout. Though not the best, it seems skiable.
