2017-2018 season
Reports 1 to 10 of 13    Month: Apr | Mar | Feb | Jan | Dec
Tuesday, April 3, 2018
Evening
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Moorhead Parks roll packed most of the trail and it is quite nice --pretty firm with just a few bare spots with grass showing. There is no classic trail set but there is plenty of snow to classic on as well.

Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The full length was roll-packed on Friday. There was no classic track set but the skate deck was fairly even but at noon it was quite soft and creaking, consequently quite slow snow but still fun. I would recommend skiing early in the day or at night when temps are below freezing.

Skate and classic tracks set last night. It should set up nicely and be firm today. It should be a beautiful day to ski.

All 2.5 K are roll packed for skate and classic. With the new snow it is a bit soft now but should firm up with cold temps tonight.

Fantastic conditions for today's ski. The classic and skate lanes were both great. Classic had not been skied at all yet since the last groom. Very little bare spots on the classic trails, maybe a total of 20 ft over the entire trail. Get out and ski! New snow falling tonight so conditions will be different tomorrow.

The trail was just groomed this morning for skate and classic. The 3" of new snow was roll packed and classic tracks set. The trail is lit for night skiing as well, although a little dim in areas.

2" of fresh snow Sunday made grooming possible. Skate deck was roll packed and classic track set. There are a couple icy spots where snow blew off.

No track is set for classic since the last wind storm. The sides of the trail are a bit squishy so it's hard to get decent kick. You're pretty much snow shoeing on the sides. I also keep seeing tire marks on the trail. I figured it was the city doing that horse drawn wagon thing but there aren't any hoof marks that I see; so I'm thinking someone thinks it's a pretty sweet shortcut or a great way to get into nature.... either way it's ruining the trail this year.
