[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
All North Suomi trails groomed and track set after fresh snow. Again very heavy drifting on ridge above Doctor Lake and along Spruce Island Lake. Use caution near Spruce island lake. This is a very difficult area to get through with the groomer and the trail is very rough.

North Suomi and Ballon loop had been groomed a day or so ago. More drifting added to the fun and challenge on Spruce Island Sluice Way. Safe descent thanks to cold temps and just barely wide enough to get ski out to snowplow some of the time.

Reset the track at south Soumi up to the north lot. Only a couple inches of fresh snow but some drifting and snow shoe traffic.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
North Suomi trails groomed and track set. West side of Kremer Lake not done, but skied in. Extreme drifting in a number of areas, so use caution, as they didn't groom out well. Spruce Island area the worst. The track setter didn't set very deep, but it should be ok.

Deep snowdrifts across top of Doktor Lake ridge and on the way down the Spruce Island sluice way. Made the skiing challenging and fun. Groomers have not been out all week but skiers have been making lots of tracks in the soft snow. Enjoy the ride before it melts and gets hard and icy!

Skied the Spruce Island Lake Loop in the north segment of trails. There were a couple-three inches of snow but the tracks were usable most places. The main exceptions were the high spot east of Dr Lake and then along the east side of Spruce Island Lk where there was extensive drifting. It was nevertheless very enjoyable with remarkable scenery in the bright late February sunlight. The topography is fantastic with high surrounding hills and interlake ridglines.

It wasn't pretty when we skiers met up with a deer on the beautifully groomed ski trail! See photo! :).
