Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Reset classic tracks and flattened the skate deck but due to heavy foot traffic it is some what lumpy. Classic tracks are good and crown base was skiing well. Did not set tracks on the watertower hill it was too soft to get the sled up with the tracksetter down. Crust cruising will be awesome early in the day so even though I could hear the Rolling Stones singing 'this could be the last time, babee the last time oh yeah' it ain't over yet. Again if lots of K's are on the schedule Wirth is the way but for a quick April 19th ski try the Hiihto.

Observation
[ Trails Open: Most ]
The Hiihto was not groomed Wednesday morning so is crusty with soft snow underneath, certainly still skiable but do so cautiously. The sun has done in some of the exposed classic tracks and there is some dirt showing. We will try to groom Thursday morning, likely skate only but Wednesday Wirth may be a better bet if you are looking for K's.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
The Hornet Hiihto classic tracks are holding up very nicely. The edges are soft so bring powder baskets if you have them. No skate deck. A few footprints. Overall - fantastic! Thanks go to Andy and Paul for keeping the Edina Nordic dream alive!

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Regroomed the Hiihto this morning. Classic tracks reset nicely although the pole plant is still pretty soft. Classic track is also soft but where it had been skied on it was great. Packed powder in April! Sun is warm so it may not last long, take a long lunch and get some k's in. The Twin skin worked well, good grip on the up hills even in soft snow. Thanks to everyone who has skied the Hiihto this week.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Got to the Hiihto about 3 hours after Paul finished grooming. Tracks in the open were already snow covered but easy to follow skiing by feel. Half a dozen other skiers out enjoying the April gift what a treat. We will regroom the classic tracks Monday morning. Get out and enjoy while it lasts!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Best classic conditions of the season. A bit soft for skating. All trails packed and tracked but the snow is still coming down so tracks might be blown in soon. Best place to park is at the skating rink lot near Creek Valley Elementary.

Lots of fun before the sun started softening up the snow. Before that top was crusty and fast. Unfortunately The new bike trail and football field really messed up the trails making it challenging to make a long loop with a couple hills like it used to be.
