Grooming Scheduling
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
I went out with the groomer this morning but won't go so far to say that we have groomed trails. Our rudimentary grooming equipment can't handle the refrozen snow. So the good is that the humps and bumps from the snow clumps falling off the trees in the warm-up are smoothed out and the trail surface is quite flat. The bad is that I was not able to cut deep tracks, in fact they are very shallow. The best way to look at it is to admit winter conditions are gone and we are into spring conditions. There is a lot of snow on the trail but don't look for nice tracks. There is also a fair amount of tree litter, especially in the few areas with hemlocks. There will be no more grooming done this year. Enjoy the spring skiing.

Night
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
After 5 days of packing and leveling after heavy snows the trail was finally set up enough to groom. Groomed all trails except the one mile loop which is likely closed for the remainder of the season. Nice deep tracks that should have firmed up nicely overnight with the -14 degree temperatures. There will be a few spots that are a little rough from where we got stuck packing the trail earlier, but no problem. Should be great skiing once we get past the next couple of cold days.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
First, thanks to those who skied earlier in the day. The trails had not been groomed from last night's snow, and from the earlier skiers, trails were in very good shape. It was a beautiful day on the trails. As I was loading up, the groomer was getting ready to groom. With the grooming tonight and the cold temperatures overnight, the trails should set up nicely. It is March so get out and ski before this premier year for cross country skiing fades away.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
All trails have been dragged and tracked except for the One Mile Loop which will not be groomed for the rest of the year. Many of the west side trails were tracked yesterday so they will have the few inches of snow from last night on them. Once skied in they should be fine. Grooming plans: We plan to run over the trails again with the drag and tracking sled sometime in the next couple of days. Hopefully we will be able to use our groomed sometime soon after that. So, the trails are definitely skiable and after another pass should be in great shape. Many thanks to Bob Cascarano for joining me with his tracked ATV which was used to pull the drag on the first pass.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
We were able to drag and set a track on most of the West Side Trails this afternoon. Don't expect great conditions but all but one of the West Side trails should be very skiable and the one segment not worked on has skied in tracks.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails: Closed, Good skis ]
With our limited equipment we have not been able to make much progress opening trails after the latest big snows. We will continue to work on it and hope to have at least some of the trails open by the weekend.

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomed all trails this morning. Nice deep well formed tracks. It may be a bit soft yet after all the snow and there is some tree litter in places. Overall conditions look very good. It is beautiful with all the snow on the trees.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomed late this afternoon. With our recent snow the tracks and conditions look as good as they can be. With tonight's low temperatures the tracks should be hard and should last for a long while if we do not get snow.

Evening
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Trails were groomed late today using our regular groomer. The tracks were a bit soft this morning so our regular groomer will pack the tracks and polling area better. With the cold temps tonight the trail should be in great shape. I would be surprised if conditions were any less than excellent tomorrow.

Finally we have enough snow. Dragged, leveled, and tracked all trails. Tracks are deep and well formed. Conditions should be very good or better.
